Please Note: The French Marble Monochrome White and Black paper is now being printed on an Ingres or bond paper base stock and is no longer being machine marbled. The pattern originates from 15th and 16th century marbling, first invented in Persia. The French perfected the marbling process and used it extensively in the 18th and 19th centuries for the endsheet and outer bindings of books.  Its many decorative uses include bookbinding, book arts, collage, card making, rubber stamping, framing, and much more.
