French Marble Monochrome White and Black

Decorative Papers

The White and Black Monochrome French Marble is machine-marbled in France on an ingres or bond paper base stock. The pattern originates from 15th and 16th century marbling, first invented in Persia. The French perfected the process and used it extensively in the 18th and 19th centuries for the endleaf and outer bindings of books. Even though this marble is machine-marbled, each sheet is slightly different in its appearance, but the color is consistent. Its many decorative uses include bookbinding, book arts, collage, card making, rubber stamping, framing, and lamp shades.
