Siegel Historic Smooth goat leathers are high quality, versatile, and economically priced. The authentic grain pattern is considered smooth (no grain manipulation) which gives them more of a rustic look, similar to calf or kangaroo leather. Some of these leathers may exhibit some minor scuffs or markings. This leather is split to approximately .65 mm with no loss in strength, meaning very little or no paring is required. They are popular for both fine bindings as well as book repair. These goat leathers are 100% vegetable tanned and readily accept blind tooling and gold stamping.
If you require specific minimum dimensions for your leather, please indicate the minimum length and width needed in the "Special Instructions" box during check out.
We highly recommend ordering a sample card to determine the colors, thickness, and textures of the leathers. Keep in mind that dye lots may vary slightly and, although they are very close, the colors might not match exactly to the ones on the sample card.
The current price per square foot is $16.00.
