Our Cherry Sewing Cradle is a higher end version of the Birch Sewing Cradle. It is made with 1/2" thick high grade Cherry plywood.  The edges have been sanded with an attractive rounded bevel.  Three coats of polyurethane finish it off.

A sewing cradle is used for punching or piercing holes in signatures (loose sheets of folded text paper) prior to sewing. This product includes a wood stop at one end so the signature sheets can easily be lined up.  An open space at the base easily allows you to use an awl to pierce through the folds.
