Rustic Buffalo Leather is a high-quality leather used for both traditional and non-traditional bookbinding, as well as for many other uses.  It has a traditional thickness for bookbinding of approximately 1.0 - 1.2 mm and requires some paring. However, without thinning they are ideal for making durable and flexible wrap-around journals. These leathers are naturally waxed and finished to guard against abrasion, staining, and color fading. They are lead-free and aniline dyed throughout the thickness. 

Note: Because the dye lots of our rustic leathers differ slightly, we do not offer samples. The colors and character seen on the website are usually fairly close, but the actual leather you receive may not match the color shown.  In addition, most pieces are cut in an irregular shape, so if specific dimensions are required  (i.e. 10" x 12"), please include those measurements in the comments box during the checkout process.
