Made of heavy, solid brass. The "H" shaped keys are traditionally used for sewing with tapes. Keys are used with a sewing frame and generally two or more are used at a time. The book, Hand Bookbinding by Aldren Watson has a section describing using a sewing frame with sewing keys.
