The Ruscombe Mill in England produces the most comprehensive ranges of conservation and restoration papers in Europe. They were created in order to meet the criteria of papers covering the late 18th century to the end of the 19th century. All papers are made by hand using flax and cotton pulps. They are protected from degradation by adding Calcium Carbonate to promote a pH above 7.5.
The papers are dried flat and then pressed to finish to ensure a smooth but slightly textured surface. The tones are similar in their off-white appearance and selected in order to best match those papers produced during these periods.
