Our Birch Sewing Cradle is made with 1/2" thick, high grade Birch plywood.  All of the edges have been sanded.  A light coat of polyurethane finishes it.

A sewing cradle is used for punching or piercing holes in signatures (loose sheets of folded text paper) prior to sewing. This product includes a wood stop at one end so the signature sheets can easily be lined up.  An open space at the base easily allows you to use an awl to pierce through the folds.
