Harmatan's Fine Leather goat skins are created using traditional methods at a small tannery in Scotland. The leathers are vegetable tanned, produced specifically for fine binding. Traditional thickness leathers (1.0 mm) require some paring, while our split leathers (.70 mm) require minimal paring. All leathers have a natural grain finish.
Skins are classified as Grade III, which means they exhibit some markings, (scars, etc), but the markings and imperfections are minimal. If you require minimum dimensions for your leather, please indicate the minimum length and width needed in the Special Instructions Box when checking out.
Our goat leather prices are based on the price per square foot and the cost listed on our website is only an approximation. The price will be adjusted on your order, depending on the exact size we have in stock. We will contact you if there is a price difference of greater than 10%. We also recommend ordering a sample book to determine the specific colors, thickness, and textures available.
