Siegel goat leathers are a premium bookbinding leather. These skins are considered Grade 1, which means they exhibit almost no blemishes or color variations. They are 100% vegetable tanned making them ideal for gold and/or blind tooling. The soft and smooth grain make them similar to calf. No plating or glazing is used in the finishing process which gives them a natural matte finish.
The skins are drum dyed and treated with a very light pigment coat to give a uniform color. All leathers are split to an average thickness of .80 mm making them ideal for leather bindings with minimal paring needed.
Our Siegel goat leather prices are based on the price per square foot and the cost listed on our website is only an approximation. The price will be adjusted on your order, depending on the exact size we have in stock. We will contact you if there is a price difference of greater than 10%. We also recommend ordering a sample book to determine the specific colors, thickness, and textures available.
