Sewing frames are used for sewing text blocks on tapes or cords. Sewing tapes are normally secured under the platform slot with tape keys, cord keys, or other makeshift methods. Simply tighten the crossbar with the adjusting nuts to remove the slack in the tape or cords. Our high quality frame's uprights are cut from dowels that are a thick 1 1/4" and 90 degree threads, which make them less likely to chip then most standard 60 degree threads. The distance between the screws is 12" and the height to the crossbar is 12", enabling you to sew most overize books. The sewing frame is entirely hand crafted and has been varnished and buffed making it moisture resistant. Easy assembly. Hand Bookbinding by Aldren Watson
