J Hewit & Sons, known for their high quality bookbinding leathers, has developed a liquid leather dressing that conservators recommend. Rather than being made of lanolin and neat’s foot oil (which is no longer recommended), it is composed of a stabilized emulsion of hard ester wax. Hewit's leather restoration dressing will help preserve leather and keep it from drying out. It also adds a protective coat, guarding it against negative environmental factors.
