Rustic Buffalo Leather is a high quality leather used for both traditional and non-traditional bookbinding, as well as for many other uses.  It has a traditional thickness for bookbinding of approximately 1.0 - 1.2 mm and requires some paring. However, without thinning they are ideal for making durable and flexible wrap-around journals. These leathers are naturally waxed and finished to guard against abrasion, staining, and color fading. They are lead-free and aniline dyed throughout the thickness.  

We cut our buffalo leathers to approximately 3.5 square feet. The colors and character seen on the website are very close to as depicted, but the actual leather you receive may be slightly different.
